Media Manager/Technical Production Assistant
Qualifications
- Highly organized
- Strong attention to detail
- Understands the fundamentals of managing all forms of media
- Understands Avid/Adobe Premiere operating software
- Understands different compressions/codecs with use of Avid software
- Understands transcoding card media in native frame rates
- Understands using different frame rate media in different frame rate projects
- Builds a sequence from AMA footage and transcodes in its proper frame rate
- Applies critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills to the management of media
- Effective communicator, but an even better listener and observer
- Possesses a degree in Media Management and/or a related field
- 1-2 years of Media Management experience
The Media Manager’s duties will include (but are not limited to) …
- Bringing in media, including originally captured TWM media and acquired media, as well as working closely with the producers and editors in managing and organizing media
- Transcoding/Ingesting field media
- Managing field interview audio files, including coordinating with field audio engineers and third-party transcription services
- Bringing in/Organizing ALL audio files – interviews and sound captured in field, as well as final mix audio
- Downloading and Organizing third-party media, including high-resolution stock media (additionally keeping track of use of footage to insert into post-production usage reports)
- Organizing field/working media into appropriate folders within edit system
- Assisting editor in preparation and mastering of final deliverables
- Creating, Executing, Posting and Delivering master digital files, as well as rough cut digital files for client/TWM review (For example: Vimeo, Hightail, Sorenson, Centaur, FTP, etc.)
- Overseeing, Delivering and Organizing all post-production reports, including: footage, music and photo reports
- Owning and Managing the Master Deliverables Checklist for each project
- Assisting editor in post-project media backup
- Managing archival footage, including master sequences (ensuring easy access by all TWM employees), as well as categorizing designated footage (mainly master sequences)
- Maintaining and Organizing field drives, meaning, the MM is the Field Drive Librarian, responsible for accessing and returning field drives to their designated location (on a daily basis if necessary)
- Supporting strategy process through brainstorming, research and collaboration
- Meeting all deadlines and adhering to “process” requests by supervisor(s), specifically Senior Editor
