Inspirational Story of Former NBA Star Manute Bol

TeamWorks Media recently acquired the life story rights for legendary NBA star Manute Bol. The exclusive agreement includes story development across all forms of media, including television, print, online, mobile and more. A native of Sudan and the son of a Dinka tribal chief, Bol has an inspirational story that embraces sports, politics and human rights. The tallest player ever to enter the NBA at the time, 7’7” Bol had a successful basketball career from 1985-1995, playing for the Washington Bullets, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers and the Miami Heat. A humanitarian as well as an athlete, since his retirement Bol has dedicated almost all of his NBA earnings to support Sudanese refugees and established the Ring True Foundation to fundraise and increase awareness about Christian refugees in war-torn Sudan. Bol survived detention by the Islamic-led Sudanese government in 2001 and a nearly fatal car accident in 2004, but he hasn’t slowed down his humanitarian efforts. Recently, he participated in the Sudan Freedom Walk from New York City to Washington D.C.  to raise awareness about genocide in Darfur and about human rights abuse throughout Sudan.
